  • Provide many examples and personal experiences of fraternity leadership positions.

  • Address participants’ questions pertaining to leadership opportunities with the fraternity.

SAI’s Hidden Jewel - The Chapter Procedures Manual

History: The fraternity’s CPM is a jewel of great value. It’s history spans over 50 years and has required numerous revisions as the fraternity responds to changes in society and technology. Just about everything a sister or a chapter needs to know can be found in the CPM.

 

Workshop Objectives:

  • Look into the fraternity’s archives – earlier CPM editions

  • Meet the current CPM’s author – Janet Nieburg

  • Discover the reasons behind the CPM’s creation.

  • Explore the Top Ten pages (Presenter’s Choice)

Breakout Session #2: Diversity in Music

- for the K-12 Music Classrooms

with Francesca Veglia (Sarasota-Manatee Alumnae Chapter President)

and Jamie Philips (Tau A, Province Officer)

Synopsis: Our Orchestra Project Goal

  • Using the video George goes to the Orchestra as an example, create a video similar to that with my young students of several ethnicities to ask questions about the orchestra instruments, the musicians and the music they play.

  • Using the Social Justice Standards, make sure to address the four anchor standards and domains that include: Identity, Diversity, Justice and Action.

  • Using videos of older students and professional orchestra musicians of multiple ethnicities to answer the questions and give examples of the sounds their instruments make.

  • Include performance videos that depict student and professional orchestras playing classical music and alternative classical music.
